We’re only now starting to look at activities in the area around Azul Beach, beyond the wedding and its related events. I’ve added an initial blurb about these other options on the Travel page.

Believe it or not (and it is definitely hard for us to believe over here), the Fourth of July is right around the corner, and our wedding in Mexico is coming upon us fast!

We’re beginning our final preparations now, and we wanted to remind everyone that the rooms that we’ve been holding at the Azul Beach hotel for our guests are soon going to be released to other parties. If you’re planning to come (and we hope that you are!), and you’re planning to stay at the Azul Beach, please be sure to book your room as soon as you can. The rooms are going to be released by Monday, May 5, and they’re expected to be filled up quickly after that date.

Many people prefer to travel independently and arrange their own flights. I know I do. But in speaking with our planner Vickie recently, she mentioned in passing that she’s seeing tickets from Chicago to Cancun running at around $400+ on a chartered flight — noticeably less than what I’ve been hearing from people who have been arranging their own travel via one of the online sites. While you should feel free to set up your own arrangements if you prefer, you may want to check with Vickie before you book, just to make sure you’re getting the best deal.
